We are delighted to announce that Mr Joe Currey WILL indeed be RETURNING to ‘Rule The World’.
Joe who played Jason Orange in our band for 7 years quit the group back in 2015 to pursue other ventures and ‘Rule The World’ have officially been a 3 piece Take That tribute band ever since.
The past 4 years have seen our band go from strength to strength performing some of our biggest gigs yet but solely paying tribute to just Take That’s Gary, Mark and Howard as per the real bands current line-up.
However, as Take That have announced their plans to embark on their 30th anniversary tour, here at ‘Rule The World’ we have begun work on our 10 year anniversary theatre tour that will take place between September – November 2018… And we felt we needed to pull out all the stops to make it the best tour yet!
The theatre show will be a BRAND NEW show that is set to raise the bar for Take That tribute bands and re-create things that have so far never been done before. Therefore ‘Rule The World’ have decided it makes sense that for this tour only, they become a 5 piece tribute band celebrating all 5 members of Take That.
We announced last year that Dan Budd will be joining us for the tour playing the part of Robbie Williams. Dan has had major success as a solo Robbie Williams tribute act over the past 6 years and was very successful when auditioning for BBC1 Talent show ‘Let It Shine’ produce by Take That themselves and judged by Gary Barlow.
From the moment Dan walked on stage he caught the attention of the real Gary Barlow who remarked, “you look like a friend of mine” before adding “he sounds like him as well!”.
Barlow then went on to say: “You are an amazing impersonator, you really are and It’s unbelievable how much you sound and look like Rob.” We are so excited to have Dan on board filling Robbie’s boots after his approval from Gary Barlow himself!
And NOW.. we are delighted to also confirm that Joe Currey will be reprising his role as Jason Orange for our special theatre tour.
“We’re so happy to get Joe back” says Matt Hall who plays Mark Owen in the band. “This is going to be a really special tour for us as a band. We’re going to be revisiting moments from lots of previous tours and mashing them all up together to bring one huge jam packed show. After Joe spent so long with us from the beginning, we felt there was nobody we wanted more to play Jason for this anniversary tour. And we’re just so delighted he said yes.”
“Joe had moved onto other things and he was not currently performing anymore. So to have him coming back especially for this tour means an awful lot to me, Dan and G and we can’t wait to get into rehearsals.”
Viewers of our online mockumentary series ‘These Days’ will have been shocked to see Joe make a very small cameo appearance in the series finale. It was revealed that he had been watching the boys for weeks. However, disaster struck when the 3 of them were all later kidnapped by an unknown person. Will it be Joe? And will there be a 3rd series to explain all?
“At this moment we’re not committed to filming a 3rd series” says Matt. “Although we love it and it’s so much fun, it’s also a lot of hard work, and at the moment we’re concentrating on making this tour the best it can be.”

“We actually filmed that scene with Joe being revealed as the stalker way back in 2015 on his last day working with us. We knew it would be a great shock on our final episode to have that scene with him. We filmed it on the exact same day that we filmed Joe leaving the band. So it was all quite surreal and emotional for us. I think we all genuinely felt at the time that Joe wouldn’t ever be coming back”.
