Take That Back To Barcelona!
The ‘Rule The World’ boys were delighted to return to Barcelona with their Take That show for the 2nd year in a row this month as part of the Sitges Gay Pride festivals 5th year!
Once again the Take That tribute band were greeted by an audience of thousands of adoring fans and they rocked the place!
“We want to say a huge thank you to Norbert and Xavi who booked us for such a great event.” Says Matt Hall who plays Mark Owen. “I am told acts don’t usually fly out to the festival two years in a row – but they made an expection for us and we’re very grateful!”
“The crowd at the festival are amazing. It’s one of our biggest gigs we’ve done and is just an absoloute pleasure to be a part of!”
‘Rule The World’ performed their 5 piece Take That show complete with the outstanding Tony Lewis as Robbie Williams.
The show includes a 4 piece Take That section with hits such as ‘Greatest Day’ and ‘Shine’ and then moves to a Robbie section with his biggest hits including ‘Rock DJ’, ‘Let Me Entertain You’ and ‘Angels’ and finishes with an hour of the 5 piece line-up where the two acts perform together in a sensational section that features all the old classics such as ‘Relight My Fire’, ‘Could It Be Magic’, ‘Everything Changes’, ‘Back For Good’ and ‘Never Forget’.
“It feels like the audience are getting 3 shows in one.” Matt added. “It’s very much a journey for them – a progression through different eras in the Take That story. We cover it all and I’m very proud of that show.”
The band were thrilled to be back in Barcelona this year and will indeed be returning to Sitges again in October to perform for a couple’s wedding who booked the band after seeing them at the festival.
“Being part of a Take That tribute band has been and still is such a great job. I’ve been in the band for over 6 years now and we’ve met such amazing people and been to such gorgeous places along the way. This year as well as our many gigs within the UK we’ll be returning to Barcelona and also have a festival in Germany that we’re very excited about! We love the opportunities we get from being in this band.”
“This is without doubt our busiest year to date with over 120 dates in the diary. December alone has already got 24 shows booked in and more are coming in still! There’s a lot of travelling but it’s all worth it.”
The tribute band who were called “Brilliant” by the real Gary Barlow are also currently in the middle of a very busy tour of Butlins that lasts all this year.
“We’re so grateful and so proud of everything we’ve achieved. All these years later and we’re still going strong and doing better than ever before! It’s amazing really!”
“One of my favourite experiences was when we performed for a private party in London for Coldplay and their management. To have Chris Martin and the boys stood watching our show was so surreal. Chris was jumping and dancing along to every number and seemed so impressed with Dan’s Gary Barlow impersonation. He kept smiling, giving him thumbs up and videoing him on his phone. I believe he’s quite close to the real Gary Barlow so it must have been interesting for him to see!”
“It’s great that we still get so much support from people on Twitter and Facebook too. We realise we’re just a tribute band at the end of the day. So to get the comments and appreciation from people is really flattering and we never take it for granted. It’s crazy how many times some people have been to see us and how far people are willing to travel to watch our show. It makes us feel like we’re doing something right!”
And what about the future?
“I believe Take That are in the studio as we speak recording a new album to be released this year and I suspect they’ll be doing a huge tour next year. I cannot wait to hear the new material and see the new show. We will without doubt be adding the new stuff and it’s exciting to see where things will go and how our show will evolve!”
“Thanks to everyone who has continued to follow our success and continued to support us. It means a lot to us and it’s what keeps us fuelled to give the best show we can do!”
